How to save £££Save £600 per group!Firstly, try to avoid agencies. These are the big companies that tend to hog the 1st couple of pages of google, making the little guys who are doing the activities less visible on the web. Agencies tend to offer activities in numerous locations, so are quite easy to spot. When you think about it, it is obvious. Agents have to pay lots of money to stay at the top of google and they employ lots of staff and print lots of fancy literature. It is you, the customer who pays for all this. Agencies usually try to hide the individual costs of their activities by building packages, including a B&B and then charging you on average £50pp extra (yes, we were shocked too!). With a group of 12, that is £600. Or 20 beers each!
All this extra money can be saved just by spending a few extra minutes on a computer to search for the little fellas and going direct.
Secondly, avoid paying deposits for people who don’t turn up. If you have 15 on your list and you need a date 2 months away, always ask if it is ok to pay for 10 and the rest pay on the day. The bigger agencies will count on you paying non-refundable deposits for everyone and keep the money from those who break their leg the day before or have a funeral to go to. If they are funny about it, just book 12 in anyway and then the other 3 who turn up can just pay at the venue anyway. Why tell the agency and pay more?
